How does almostfree.in work?

almostfree.in is an Auctions website that incorporates a fun, competitive and exciting element to your purchase experience allowing you to get great products at amazing prices.

There are 3 different Auctions to choose from that are all very different: Penny Auctions, Unique Lowest Bid and Buy It Now. All give you the opportunity to buy brand new products, from electronic goods to household items.

The products often sell at incredibly cheap prices; this works because everyone participating in an Auction contributes towards the saving!

To participate in almostfree.in Auctions you use almostfree.in bids, which are purchased before bidding begins. Every time you bid you use your bids that you have pre-purchased, and this way it's easy to keep track of what you are using.

almostfree.in is able to cover the price of most of the products offered by adding the price of the total bids used in the Auction with the final selling price of the product.

How do I start bidding?

If you want to bid on any of the almostfree.in Auctions you must first register and buy bids. There are a range of bid packs to suit many price ranges. Once you have bids in your account you can choose any of the Auctions and start bidding.

Where can I bid on almostfree.in?

You can bid from anywhere. If you have any questions just contact Customer Services.

How do I see more detail for each Auction?

Simply click on the image for the Auction item, or the 'I' icon in the top left hand corner of the Auction and you will be taken to the product details page. From this page you can see more information about the product and the Auction itself. You can also continue to bid from here too.

What are bids?

Bid Tokens are the almostfree.in currency. They can be used to play any of our different Auctions, simply buy a bid token pack of your choice and start playing. Bid tokens that you purchase are known as "Bought Bids" and can be used on all auctions. Bid Tokens that you win, or get via other means such as Bids Swap or promotions, are known as "Won Bids" and can normally be used on all Penny Auctions, and timed Unique Lowest Bid auctions but not on Buy It Now and some other restrictions may apply from time to time.

Different Auctions require different bid token spends per bid which are clearly stated on each Auction (eg "2 Tokens per Bid").

What do the 'Bids' and 'Show Price' buttons do?

In our 'Penny Auctions' you click 'Bid' to take control.

In our 'Unique Lowest Bid' Auctions you click 'Bid' to submit your chosen price.

In our 'Buy It Now' Auctions you click the 'Show Price' button to see the price.

What is a Bid Pal and how does it work?

On Penny Auctions, Bid Pals can bid for you whilst you are away from your computer. Just enter the price you want to start bidding from, the number of bids to be placed, and then click "Set".

The Bid Pal will adjust your bid balance automatically and then bid for you. Once set, you can't cancel a Bid Pal and all unused bids will be returned at the end of the auction.

How do I keep track of the Auction I'm bidding on?

To keep track of an Auction you are bidding on simply click "Add to my Watchlist" whilst on the main product page for that Auction.

How do I see who I am bidding against?

The name shown on the live auctions is the Username of the last bidder.

With Penny Auctions you can see who you are bidding against by ensuring you are in the main product details page and clicking on 'Current Bids', this will show you the most recent bids.

With Unique Lowest Bid you cannot see who you are bidding against, aside from the last bidder, only if your bid is unique/not unique and too low/high.

With Buy It Now you're not bidding against anyone directly as, you can purchase the product at any time so information on other bidders is not shown aside from the last bidder.

Can I undo submitted Bids?

No, once you have submitted a Bid it cannot be undone.

Can I bid during the night?

Yes. almostfree.in runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What happens when I win an auction?

Once you have won you will be given the option to purchase the product for the winning price plus any applicable administration and shipping costs.

How do Free Auctions work?

Free auctions work in a similar way to the regular Auctions. However, the key difference is they do not use any bids from your account, so are a great place to learn, practice your strategies and tactics while winning some lower value items too.

How much does a bid cost?

The price of a bid may vary based on which bids package you choose. See our full pricing table by clicking on the "Our Prices" button at the bottom of the page and look out for our special offers making bids even cheaper.

How can I purchase bids?

As a new user you can purchase bids as part of the registration process. Simply click any of the "Join Now" buttons. It is quick, easy and hassle free.

If you are an existing user you must be logged in to purchase bids. Once you are logged in click any "Buy Bids" button on the site to go to the secure payment area.

Can I get a refund for bids I have purchased?

No. Once bids are purchased there are no refunds (limited exceptions may apply, see Terms and Conditions).

How do I pay for the product I have won?

You can purchase an item you have won at any time by going to "My Account" and clicking on the "My Basket" tab.

Note: Purchases must be made prior to the expiry date listed next to the product in "My Basket".

Do you store my credit/debit card or PayPal details?

No. No confidential payment details are stored and all payments are managed securely by PayPal on behalf of almostfree.in.

Are my payments to almostfree.in secure?

Yes. Payments are made over an encrypted connection with our partner PayPal.

Are there any limits to payments I make to almostfree.in?

almostfree.in does not limit the amount of payments you can make to us; however, PayPal and credit/debit card providers may have their own restrictions which may prevent you from making payments to us. Please check with the provider of your preferred payment method.

What will appear on my credit/debit card statement?

"Auctions" or a similar derivative will appear on your statement.

Can you explain 'Penny Auctions'?

The clock counts down to zero. Each bid increases the price by 1p. Bids in the final seconds add extra time to the clock. The last bidder when the clock reaches zero wins that product at the final bid price.

Can you explain 'Unique Lowest Bid'?

Choose a low price (eg £1.47) that you think no one else has picked. When the timer reaches zero for timed 'Unique Lowest Bid' auctions (or the set limit of remaining Bids reaches zero for fixed bid Unique Lowest Bid auctions) the Unique Lowest Bidder wins for the price of the Unique Lowest Bid.

Can you explain 'Buy It Now'?

Click 'Show Price' to see the latest price of the item. If you like the price then you can choose to purchase the item immediately. If you want the product cheaper, wait for others to bid as the price drops after every reveal is made. Come back and click 'Show Price' later, but don't wait too long or someone else may buy first.

What is a Star Auction?

A Star Auction is a one-off ultra high value prize that will be available on one of our Auctions.

How do I keep track of Auctions that I want to bid on?

Simply click "Add to my Watchlist" whilst on the product details page for that Auction.

The Auction will be visible in 'My Account' by clicking on the 'My Watchlist' tab.

What is the cost of delivery?

The cost of delivery varies from product to product and is stated at the bottom of the product description along with any applicable administration charge.

How long will my product take to arrive?

Delivery times vary depending on our supply partners. Delivery will usually occur between 10-14 working days after your have purchased your item and often much more quickly.

Where do you deliver to?

The United Kingdom, ROI and the Channel Islands. For delivery to other places please check with almostfree.in first as most areas can be served but there may be additional costs.

What warranty do I get on the product(s) I have won?

All products come with relevant manufacturers warranties where applicable.

What do I do if I've forgotten my password?

Click on 'Sign In', enter your user name or email address and click 'Email my password'. Your password will then be reset and emailed to your registered email address.

How do I change my details?

Sign in and go to 'My Account' and in the 'My Profile' tab you can edit your details.

How do I check how many bids I have in my account?

Bids currently in your account appear at the top of the page where it reads "My Balance". You can also see the full detail, including your "Bought Bids" and "Won Bids" in the 'My Statements' tab in the 'My Account' area of the site.

How can I check what products I have won?

Sign in and go to 'My Account' and click on the 'My Basket' tab.

How do I delete my account?

If you wish for your account to be deleted please sign in and contact us from the contact us page or email us at info@almostfree.in.

How do I unsubscribe from the almostfree.in newsletter

Sign in and go to 'My Account' and select the 'My Profile' tab. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and uncheck 'Please email me details of special offers and product news from almostfree.in'. Then click 'Click to Submit My New Preferences'.

Please note: This action will suspend all scheduled and regular emails from almostfree.in including emails informing you of special offers and other promotions you may be interested in.

What do I do with my promotional code?

When purchasing bids, enter your code in the "Voucher/Discount" field when it is displayed.

How does the 'Refer a Friend' work?

Click on the 'Refer a Friend' link and fill in the appropriate fields. When your friend registers and buys a bid pack both your accounts will be topped up within 24 hours with your free bids.

When will I receive bids I have won in an auction?

Accounts are normally topped-up within 24 hours with all bids you have won in auctions.

I have received an email from almostfree.in asking for my account details, is this ok?

almostfree.in will never email you asking for account details. However, for security almostfree.in can email you and request proof of Identification; if you are concerned simply get in contact at info@almostfree.in.

What do I do if I receive a suspicious email?
